In my last post, I was so excited to show a project that required a zipper. Wow, I was in a cold sweat wondering how I would pull it off. Everyone (yes everyone) says zippers are scary and I believed them. The only way to conquer your fear is face it head on.
So, yesterday, I pulled a tutorial out that I printed almost two years ago. It's the Patchwork Pencil Pouch Tutorial by Vanessa Hewell at lbg-studio.
Vanessa uses a walking foot to attach the zipper. I tried it and it works beautifully. Please give that technique a try.
I also used linen, just as Vanessa did. As the last person on earth to try linen, I will say it is lovely to work with. But, you probably already knew that.

This has turned out beautifully. I've never tried using a walking foot for zips. I'll give it a go :)
